Presenting a Multi-Observable GNSS-IR Framework at ISASDA 2025 在 ISASDA 2025 汇报多观测值 GNSS-IR 反演框架

On December 9, 2025, I attended the International Symposium on GNSS Atmospheric Sounding and Data Assimilation (ISASDA 2025) at China University of Mining and Technology in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province. I delivered an oral presentation titled “A Sea Surface Height Retrieval Framework Using Multi-Type Observations Based on GNSS Multipath Reflectometry.”

2025 年 12 月 9 日,我前往江苏徐州,在中国矿业大学参加了2025 年 GNSS 大气探测与数据同化国际研讨会(ISASDA 2025),并作了题为 “A Sea Surface Height Retrieval Framework Using Multi-Type Observations Based on GNSS Multipath Reflectometry” 的口头报告。

A multi-observable GNSS-IR framework

My research has long focused on GNSS-IR-based sea- and water-level monitoring. This work extends conventional approaches that rely mainly on signal-to-noise ratio observations by integrating multiple types of GNSS measurements. The objective is to make fuller use of the reflected-signal information contained in different observables and improve retrieval accuracy, robustness, and applicability under a wider range of observing conditions.

Presenting this framework to researchers working on GNSS remote sensing gave me an opportunity to explain both its methodological motivation and its practical value. The questions and discussions after the talk also helped me see more clearly which parts of the framework should be strengthened in future work.

My first presentation delivered entirely in English

This symposium marked another personal milestone: it was my first oral presentation at an international academic conference delivered entirely in English. From preparing the slides to giving the talk and answering questions, every stage required me to communicate the research in English. Although I was nervous and could see room for improvement, completing the presentation successfully was an important step in my academic journey.

The experience reminded me that international research communication requires more than reading English papers. It also requires the ability to explain ideas clearly, respond to technical questions, and discuss research with colleagues from different backgrounds. The challenge strengthened my determination to keep improving my academic English and prepare for future international collaboration.

Perspectives from ISASDA 2025

During the symposium, I attended presentations on GNSS atmospheric sensing, data assimilation, remote sensing, and high-precision positioning by researchers from China and abroad. Learning about current international developments broadened my perspective and provided new ideas for my own work. Beyond sharing a research result, ISASDA 2025 strengthened my confidence in international academic communication and encouraged me to continue pursuing high-quality GNSS research.
